In Spring 2024, All Stars Helping Kids announced plans to sunset after 35 years of impact.

Our Mission:

The mission of All Stars Helping Kids was to break the cycle of poverty for Bay Area youth by seed funding start-up nonprofits.

Our Work:

Since 1989, All Stars Helping Kids passionately supported Bay Area organizations that were committed to helping Bay Area youth thrive. In 2012, we created the innovative and game-changing All Stars Accelerator Program, to build strong, impactful and sustainable nonprofits working in our most overlooked and marginalized communities.

Each year, All Stars selected a cohort of innovative Bay Area nonprofits to participate in a three-year intensive program designed to help build organizational capacity, financial sustainability and community impact of those organizations working to disrupt the cycle of poverty for Bay Area youth.

The following organizations thrived in our Accelerator Program:

Alpha Public Schools

Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI)

Our History:

All Stars Helping Kids was founded in 1989 when NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott gathered his friends for dinner to benefit the local community. After raising $100,000 in one night, Ronnie and his wife, Karen, invested in several nonprofits fighting poverty in the South Bay.

During its 35 year history, All Stars Helping Kids invested more than $35 million in grants and resources to over 600 Bay Area organizations, impacting the lives of thousands of youth by providing access to education, career readiness, and health & wellness programs.

“Life is about the calling to serve, to help another human being. When you help them, that makes you a better teammate. An All Star can be anyone!”
